Within the mentioned visit, we will offer guests a short cultural-mythological walking tour (max. 4-5 km walking distance, walking tour duration - 2.30 minutes - 3 hours). The route can be selected in advance. During the tour, visitors will get to know the very interesting and somehow mystical Gudamakari and the mountains of Eastern Georgia in general. After the tour, we will host the guests in our family hotel "Ame". The house was built by grandfather in 1928. The name "Ame" itself comes from the local term "Chemo Amev", this is how grandmothers used to address their grandchildren, this is how grandmother used to address us - grandchildren, and the phrase itself expresses warmth and love. In the family hotel, we tried to fully preserve the ethnic style. Guests will have the opportunity to relax in an authentic environment. Here we will offer a culinary master class (khinkali twisting, kvelkhavitsa), we will entertain you with traditional dishes: kvelkhavitsa, mkhlovana, khavitsi kada, different types of khinkali: meat, cottage cheese, potato and also garlic khinkali, which is made only in Gudamakari. We will also treat you with local herbal tea. If desired, guests will have the opportunity to plan their vacation in Gudamakari and book a night with us.
In the mountains of Eastern Georgia, including, of course, Gudamakari, which is the oldest historical-ethnographic corner of Georgia, mythological stories, ancient traditions, customs, faith in icon-shrines and the sacred knowledge related to it - "Andreze" - have been preserved for centuries. This knowledge was passed down orally from generation to generation. There is an old Khevsuri saying "Andrez is right". This is a living culture that carries the greatest sacred and spiritual knowledge of the ancestors, the daily life of the mountain people of Eastern Georgia, the social system, and the relationship between the cross and the cross are built on it. This is the greatest intangible cultural heritage. As part of the cultural-mythological tour, the guests will have the opportunity to get to know such Gudamakari. As for cooking, it was influenced by both terrain and lifestyle, as well as sacred knowledge. For example, Kvelkhavitsa, which is made of cheese, erbo and flour and is quite nutritious, was often eaten before going out for hard work, such as mowing and sawing in the mountains, so that they would have energy for a long time. There is a khavitsi kada, (in the heart of the khadi there is a khavitsi prepared from erbo and flour, which is salted - there is knowledge about the salted khavitsi kada in the third canonical book of the Old Testament - Leviticus), which is sacred, it is brought to the icon, the deacon will sow it, light candles and bless the family. If there is an offering for the icon, it should only be salty, although in real life, along with the salty food, they also bake a sweet khavitsi kada.
